          Let’s Learn Degrees of Comparison of Adjectives

        Adjec� ves can also be used to show comparison between nouns.

        There  are  three  degrees  of  comparison  of  adjec� ves:  posi� ve,  compara� ve and
        superla� ve.


        Positive Degree

        The posi� ve degree is the simplest form of an adjec� ve. It is used when no comparison
        is made.

        Read the following sentences.

               Vikas is a strong boy.                               Ram is a responsible person.
                                                               
         In the above sentences, strong and responsible are posi� ve degrees of the adjec� ves.

        Comparative Degree

        The compara� ve degree is used when two people or things are being compared. We

        add -er to most posi� ve degrees to form compara� ve degrees. A� er that, we use than
        to show comparison.
        Read the following sentences.

               Rohan is shorter than Shyam.                         I am cleverer than you.
                                                               
        In each of the above sentences, two sets of people have been compared. Adjec� ves
        used  in  these sentences—shorter and  stronger are  compara� ve  degrees  of  the
        adjec� ves.
