Step 4: Write your letter 4.2 4.1 4.3
This step lets you write your letter and insert merge
fields into it. A merge field is a text placeholder that
derives its data from the data source linked to the
main document. It is enclosed within << >> symbols.
4.1 Type the content of the letter that needs to
be the same in all copies.
4.2 Click the location where you want to insert
information from the data source.
4.3 Under Write your letter, click the Address
block… link.
The Insert Address Block dialog box opens.
4.4 Select a format for the address block and
click the OK button.

The <<AddressBlock>> merge field is inserted at the selected location.

4.5 Click the Greeting line… link.
The Insert Greeting Line dialog box opens.
4.6 Select a format for the greeting line and click the OK button.
The <<GreetingLine>> merge field is inserted at the selected
location.
