COLUMN FORMATTING
A Column is a vertical division of text on a page. By default, Word
arranges text in a single column that runs from the left margin to
the right margin. However, you can arrange text in multiple columns
as used in newspapers and magazines.
When you arrange text in more than one column, the text fills the
first column and then moves to the top of the next column. When
all the columns on one page are full, the text moves to the next page.
To arrange text in multiple columns:
1. Select the text you want to arrange into columns.
2. In the Page Setup group on the Layout tab, click the Columns button.
A drop-down list with predefined column layouts appears.
