The Ruler in Word lets you quickly set the indentation for a paragraph. The ruler contains
markers for the first line indent hanging indent left indent and right indent
Drag the indent marker on the ruler to set the required indentation.
Line Spacing
Line Spacing is the amount of vertical blank space between the lines of text in a
paragraph. By default, the spacing between lines in a paragraph is 1.08 point.
To set line spacing for a paragraph: 1 2 3
1. Position the cursor in a paragraph.
2. On the Home tab, click the Line and
Paragraph Spacing button in the
Paragraph group.
A drop-down list of predefined line
spacing options appears.
3. Select a desired line spacing option from the list.
Or
To set specific line spacing for a paragraph, click the
Line Spacing Options...
The Paragraph dialog box opens.
4. In the Spacing section on the Indents and Spacing t a b,
click the Line spacing box and select a line spacing f o r
the paragraph.
5. Click the OK button. 4
Word applies the specified line spacing.

Paragraph Spacing
Paragraph Spacing is the blank space between two paragraphs. By default, Word
leaves 0 point space before and 8 points space after every paragraph.
