          Kinds of Prepositions

          Prepositions mainly are divided into four types.
              1.  Prepositions of Place                        2.  Prepositions of Movement
              3.  Prepositions of Time and Date                4.  Prepositions of Direction

          Prepositions of Place

          These prepositions include inside, outside, over, under, above, below, at, near, beside, before, behind,
          between, on, beyond.

          Study the following sentences carefully.
              1.  Three women are inside the room. One is waiting outside the room.

              2.  The bridge is over the river and the boat is under the bridge.
              3.  The roof is above our heads, but the floor is below our feet.

              4.  The auto is at the stop near a bus and beside the pole.
              5.  The shop is before the tree, and the tree is behind it.

              6.  The girl is standing between the two boys.
              7.  The palace is on the hill, but the river flows beyond it.

          Prepositions of Movement

          These prepositions include in, into, onto, towards, from, through, across, up, down, along, off, past,
          round, around, by.
          Study the following sentences carefully.

              1.  Put the tea leaves in the water.
              2.  The monkey jumped into the well.

              3.  The bird flew onto the branch of a tree.
              4.  The driver drove the car towards the market.
              5.  The mangoes fell from the tree to the ground.

              6.  This road passes through a tunnel.
              7.  The boy ran across the road along the zebra crossing.
