Correlative Conjunctions

          Correlative conjunctions appear in pairs and join two similar items. The items joined by correlative
          conjunctions are of equal importance. They include words like both…and, either…or, neither…
          nor, and not only…but also.

          Read the following sentences.
                  Mangoes are expensive. Apples are expensive.
               l
                  Both mangoes and apples are expensive.

               l    I can go on Monday. I can go on Tuesday.
                   I can go either on Monday or on Tuesday.

               l    She cannot stay away from ice cream. She does not like to exercise.
                    Neither can she stay away from ice creams nor does she like to exercise.

               l    Both her daughters are beautiful. They are also well mannered.
                   Both her daughters are not only beautiful, but also well mannered.
