               The Pencil tool works in the same way as the Brush tool. The Brush tool creates soft-edged strokes of a
               colour, while the Pencil tool creates hard-edged lines.



          Gradient Tool
          A Gradient tool is used to fill selected areas with a blend of multiple
          colours. You can select a preset gradient fill or create your own
          gradient.

          To use the Gradient tool:

            1.  Open a saved image.
            2.  Select the area of the image where you want to                3
                apply the gradient.
            3.  In the Tools panel, click the Gradient     tool.

            4.  On the Options Bar, do the following :

                4.1  Click a Gradient type button – linear, radial, angle,                                       4.4
                     reflected, and diamond.                                     4.3
                4.2  Click the Gradient sample bar.

                         The Gradient Editor dialog box opens.
                4.3  Choose a gradient from the Presets list or create a new
                     gradient using the Gradient bar.
                4.4 Click the OK button.
