You can quickly resize the column and row to fit the content by double-clicking the right boundary of a
column heading or the lower boundary of a row heading.

FONT FORMATTING

Excel provides options to change the font, font size, font colour, and font style of content in a worksheet
to give emphasise to it.

To change the font, font size, font colour, and font style:

1. Select the cells whose contents you want to format.
2. On the Home tab, in the Font group, do any

of the following:

• Click the drop-down arrow next to
Font and select a desired font.

• Click the drop-down arrow next to
Font Size and select a desired font

size.
• Click the drop-down arrow next

to Font Color and select a desired
colour. 1

• Click the Bold , Italic or
Underline button to make the

contents appear bold, italicised, or
underlined respectively.

Excel applies the selected font, font size,
font colour, and font style on the contents

of the selected cells.

CELL FORMATTING

Excel 2019 provides various options to format the appearance of cells in a worksheet. You can add a
background colour or border around the cells, align the cell contents horizontally or vertically, change

the direction of the cell contents, wrap the cell contents to display in multiple lines, and merge the
cells.
