Aligning Text 1
You can align text with respect to the borders of a cell.
To align text in a table:
1. Select the cells whose text you want to align.
2. On the Table Tools Layout tab, click the desired Alignment button in the Alignment group.

Word aligns the text in cells as per the selected alignment option.
Knowledge Discovery Subject Enrichment
You can change the appearance of borders and apply shading to the cells of a table. To do so:
1. On the Table Tools Design tab, click the Borders button in the
Borders group.
2. Select the Borders and Shading option from the menu that
appears.
3. In the Borders and Shading dialog box:
• under Borders tab, specify the settings for the borders of the
table.
• under Shading tab, specify the settings for the shading effect.
4. Click the OK button to apply the borders and shading as per
the selected options.
Applying Table Styles 2
A table style combines font scheme, border styles,
and background colours to give a professional
look to a table.
To apply a table style to a table:
1. Click anywhere on the table.
2. On the Table Tools Design tab, click the
More button in the Table Styles group.
The Table Style gallery appears. 1
3. Move the mouse pointer over a style to
preview it on the table.
4. Select a desired table style.
Word applies the selected table style to the table.
