C. Read the following passage and answer the questions that follow.
The child Gobind lived at Patna until he was five. Then he was brought to Anandpur
Sahib, a town built by his father in the foothills of the Himalayas. At seven, he
began to take lessons in Sanskrit, Hindi and Persian. He made quick progress
in his studies and became well-acquainted with Sanskrit and Persian lores, and
learnt by heart the whole of the Holy Granth. Throughout his life, he retained his
love of learning. At Paonata Sahib, on the bank of the Jamuna, he kept fifty-two
scholars with him. He himself wrote poetry, which is of a very high order. Gobind
Singh was nine years old when Guru Tegh Bahadur was martyred in Delhi.
