A preposition is a word which is placed before a noun or pronoun and expresses the

Observe the following phrases.

7. of our king 8. on a mat 9. for a week

Each phrase has a word in colour. It occupies a place before a noun/pronoun. Now
examine the following sentences.

1. The pen is in the inkpot. 2. Soon we arrived at the hilltop.

3. He killed the snake with a stick. 4. I borrowed a book from him.

5. The child fell off the roof. 6. We see stars during the night.

7. Here is the crown of our king. 8. The cat is sitting on a mat.
