Some more adverbs of manner are sincerely, certainly, surely, gently, slowly, quickly,
truly, loudly, honestly, slyly, and lovingly.
Adverbs of Degree
Read the following sentences.
1. The cup is nearly full.
2. It is too hot to go out.
3. Mohan is too careless.
4. These pants are almost worn out.
In these sentences:
1. Nearly shows a high degree of fullness.
2. Too shows a high degree of hotness.
3. Too shows a high degree of carelessness.
4. Almost points to the high degree of being worn out.
An adverb of degree shows the degree/extent of an action/quality.
Some more adverbs of degree are fully, totally, perfectly, partially, nearly, completely,
approximately, entirely, considerably, and wholly.
Adverbs of Frequency
Read the following sentences.
1. I take tea twice a day.
2. He seldom comes to see me.
3. Sharmila often visits my place.
4. You must always keep your promise.
An adverb of frequency indicates how often an action is done.
Some more adverbs of frequency are usually, ever, never, once, rarely, generally, firstly,
secondly, doubly, and thrice.
