        Here are few examples:
















        In these three examples the mirror lines are all vertical. Figures can have mirror lines in all direction. The line
        which divides the figure into two equal parts is called the line of symmetry or axis of symmetry. Shapes or
        figures may have horizontal, vertical, both horizontal and vertical, infinite and no line of symmetry. Let us look
        at few more examples.

        Making Symmetrical Figures
        Let us learn through an activity how to create symmetrical figures. Take any plain paper and put some paint of
        different colours in any pattern you like. Fold the paper and press it slightly. Open it and observe the pattern. Is it
        symmetrical? Here is one such pattern.
