Example 4: Convert 625 cm into m and cm.
Solution: 625 cm = 600 cm + 25 cm = (600 ÷ 100) m + 25 cm
= 6 m + 25 cm = 6 m 25 cm
Example 5: Convert 5 km and 6 km into m. Challenge
Solution: 5 km = (5 × 1000) m = 5000 m I am used to measure how
long or short.
6 km = (6 × 1000) m = 6000 m In meters or centimeters,
I report from end to end,
Example 6: Convert 8 km 70 m into m. I span the distance what am I?
Solution: 8 km 70 m = (8 × 1000) m + 70 m Use your math brilliance!
= 8000 m + 70 m = 8070 m
Example 7: Convert 5008 m into km and m.
