SAVING A DOCUMENT
You can save a document to make any changes permanent and store it as a file in the
computer. A saved document can be opened later to view or edit its contents.
To save a document:
1. Click the File tab.
The Backstage view opens.
2. Click Save. 2
The Save As page appears.
3. Under Save As, click Browse.
The Save As dialog box opens.

4. In the File name text box, type a name for
the document.
5. Click the Save button.
Word saves the document, and its name
is displayed on the Title bar.

Knowledge Discovery Subject Enrichment
To save a copy of an existing document with a different filename, click Save As in the Backstage
view and save the file. Word saves all documents with the extension .docx.
OPENING A SAVED DOCUMENT
You can open a saved document in Word 2019 to
continue working on it.
To open a saved document: 2
1. Click the File tab.
The Backstage view opens.
2. Click Open.
3. Under Open, click Browse.
