The scroll bars appear in the Word window when the document contains pages whose height
and width are larger than the window size.
Status Bar
The Status bar, present at the bottom of the Word window, displays information
related to the current document, such as number of pages, lines, and words. It also
contains the View buttons and the Zoom bar on the right side.

Knowledge Discovery Subject Enrichment
Word 2019 incorporates a feature called Tell Me, which helps you do different tasks and
learn features of Word 2019. Clicking the Tell Me icon on the Ribbon or pressing Alt + Q
key combination opens the Tell Me box.
CREATING A NEW DOCUMENT
A new document in Word 2019 can be created directly from the Start screen or
from the main window. The Document gallery in the Start screen displays a list
of predesigned documents called Templates, which can be used to create a new
document.
To create a new document from the Word main window:
1. Click the File tab.
The Backstage view opens. 2
2. Click New.
A list of templates appears.
3. Click on Blank document.
A new blank document opens in Word.
