 Organised: Self-management makes us more organized. Being organized helps us achieve goals by making
              it easier to work.
           Motivated: Self-management keeps us motivated and pushes us to give our best to every task.

           Dedicated: Self-management makes us a dedicated worker and helps us to give more productive output
              and value to the organization.

           Responsible: Self-management teaches us to take responsibilities and be a better and responsible worker.
                                 An interest is something we like; ability on the other hand, is a skill within us, which will
                                 enable us to do something very well. Sometimes interests may not match abilities. In those
                                 cases, we can either improve our abilities or follow some other path. For example, we may
                                 like cricket (interest) but we may not be able to play due to the necessary power or skill
                                 (ability) required to play the game. In that case, it is not necessary to try to become a cricketer!



        Self-management Skills and its Components
        The steps, strategies and skills that we can use towards the achievement of goals are called self-management
        skills. These skills prepare us to deal with situations arising in environment where there is little guidance,
        structure and monitoring. Self-management teaches us to be productive, no matter what the circumstances are.
        Self-management skills include the following:

        Self-development
        It is all about developing our skill base and be eager to learn and
        accept new things.





                                                  Being Responsible

                                                   Taking responsibilities for our own actions is one of the major skills
                                                   that takes us towards self-management.




        Self-confidence
        It is the ability to believe in ourselves and trust our own judgement. It
        also gives others confi dence that they can trust us. Self-management
        gives us the confi dence to be able to control any kind of situation.




                                                  Self-awareness
                                                   It is the understanding of our own behaviour, likes, dislikes, values,
                                                   strengths and weaknesses. It helps in guiding us better for our own
                                                   good.




        Self-motivation
        It drives  us  to  do  things on  our  own  without any external
        pressure or motivation.
