(=) sign is considered as formula.
Creating a New Workbook
A Calc fi le or document is known as workbook which has multiple sheets in it called worksheets.
To start with a new workbook:
Step 1: Click the File menu and select New option in it.
Step 2: Select Spreadsheet option from the sub-menu.
Alternatively, you can use Ctrl + N keyboard shortcut to create a new workbook. A blank workbook with Sheet1
as the current or active worksheet opens in Calc window.
Moving Around in Worksheet
The size of a Calc worksheet is very large. It has 16384 columns and 1, 048, 576 rows in it. Each row intersects
each column in the worksheet to store data. So, to move around quickly in such a large worksheet, you can use
the following keys:
Key Function
Left Arrow key Move one column left
Right Arrow or Tab key Move one column right
Up Arrow key Move up by one row
Down Arrow or Enter key Move down by one row
Page Up key Move up by one screen
Page Down key Move down by one screen
Home key Move to the fi rst cell of the row
Ctrl + Down Arrow key Move to the last row, in the worksheet
Ctrl + Up Arrow key Move to the fi rst row
