Selecting Text Using a Keyboard

Position the cursor at the beginning of the text. Hold the Shift key and use arrow keys to reach till the end of
your selection.
Some keybord shortcuts for quick selection of text in the document are:

Selection Keyboard Shortcuts
Single character to the right of the cursor position Shift + Right arrow
Single character to the left of the cursor position Shift + Left arrow

Single word to the right of the cursor position Ctrl + Shift + Right arrow
Single word to the left of the cursor position Ctrl + Shift + Left arrow
Selection from the current position to the end of line Shift + End key

Selection from the current position to the beginning of line Shift + Home key
Selection from the current position to the end of paragraph Shift + Ctrl + Down arrow
Selection from the current position to the beginning of paragraph Shift + Ctrl + Up arrow
Selection to the entire document contents Ctrl + A

Selecting Non-consective Items
To select non-consecutive items using the mouse:
Step 1: Select the fi rst text item of text.
Step 2: Hold down the Ctrl key and use the mouse to select the
next text.
Repeat as often as needed.

Selecting a Vertical Block of Text

Just hold down the Alt key while you drag the selection.
