Apply Editing Features
Making changes in an existing document is called Editing. It involves inserting or deleting text, inserting a page,
copying or moving text, etc.
Inserting Text
Sometimes, you want to insert new text between the existing text. In that case, click at the place where you want
to insert the new text in your document. The cursor will start blinking at the selected position. Now type the
desired text only. The text will start appearing in between the text as writer automatically moves the existing text
to create the space for the new text.

Inserting a Blank Line
To insert a blank line between two existing lines, place the cursor at the end of the line after which you want to
insert a blank line and press the Enter key.
The line gets shifted and a blank line is inserted.

Selecting Text
Sometimes, you want to perform some operations on specifi c characters, words, sentences, paragraphs or a
block of text only. To do this, it is required to select that part of document. The text can be selected using the
keyboard or the mouse.
Selecting Text Using a Mouse
Position the mouse pointer at the beginning from where you want to start the selection. Hold the left mouse
button and drag till the end of your selection. Release the mouse button. Some shortcuts for quick selection of
text are:

a word Double-click on the word
a line Click the left mouse button thrice anywhere in that paragraph
a paragraph Click the left mouse button four times in front of the paragraph
