Future Continuous Tense
The future continuous tense is used:
¾ when we know that an action will be in progress at some time in the future.
Read the sentence given below.
• This time tomorrow she will be celebrating his birthday.
¾ to describe something that has been prearranged.
Read the sentence given below.
• She will be giving a presentation at nine o’clock in the morning.
Sentence Formation in Future Continuous Tense
¾ To make a positive sentence, we add will/shall + be before the present participle form of
the main verb.
Read the sentence given below.
• He will be watching the kabaddi match this evening.
¾ To make a negative sentence, we add will not or shall not + be before the present participle
form of the main verb.
Read the sentence given below.
• They will not be leaving till the end of August.
¾ To make an interrogative sentence, we add will or shall before the subject + be, followed
by the present participle form of the main verb.
