I have just received a report from your Principal regarding your result in the half-
yearly examination. Though it is satisfactory as far as English and science are

concerned. In mathematics, history and Hindi, you have not done well. You need
to put in more hard work in these subjects.
The general opinion of your Principal about you is not good either. He is

displeased at your general behaviour. I have been his student, and I know his
opinion cannot be wrong.
It is high time, Bhavesh, you shaped yourself. If you are in bad company, shun it

once and for all. Next time I must receive a good report. Mind you, I am not telling
Papa anything about the report this time. But if you do not change your ways, I
will have to tell him everything.

C. Write a letter to a friend apologizing for not attending his sister’s marriage.

Dear Ashwani,
I approach you through this letter with an apology for not attending the marriage
of your sister Ekta. Believe me, I had made preparations to attend the event. But

circumstances went out of my control suddenly. Due to continuous heavy rains,
our colony got flooded. There was water all around. In fact, the big drain near
our colony had come to have a breach. As a result, the area got flooded. We were
completely cut off from the rest of the city.

Once again I apologize to you for my inability to attend Ekta’s marriage. Please
accept my heartiest congratulations and convey them to your dear parents as
well.
