Step 2: Bring down 2. Now 12 will be new dividend. Divide 12 by 3.

3 goes into 12, 4 times. Write 4 in the ones place of the quotient
and 3 × 4 = 12, below 12.

Now, subtract; 12 – 12 = 0

Thus, 72 ÷ 3 = 24
