Therefore, two division facts can be derived from 5 × 3 = 15.
15 ÷ 5 = 3 Fact-o-meter
A multiplication fact always
5 × 3 = 15 leads to two division facts
except when multiplication
15 ÷ 3 = 5 is of the same number.
Exercise 6.2
Write the division facts for each of the following multiplication fact.
(a) 5 × 7 = 35 (b) 7 × 8 = 56
(c) 5 × 6 = 30 (d) 8 × 10 = 80
Properties of Division
When a number is divided by 1, the quotient is the number itself.
For example, 15 ÷ 1 = 15; 376 ÷ 1 = 376; 2150 ÷ 1 = 2150
When a number is divided by itself, the quotient is 1.
For example, 8 ÷ 8 = 1; 183 ÷ 183 = 1; 1081 ÷ 1081 = 1
When 0 is divided by any number, the quotient is 0.
For example, 0 ÷ 4 = 0; 0 ÷ 94 = 0; 0 ÷ 3716 = 0

(d) ________ ÷ 1 = 516 (e) 3721 ÷ 3721 = ________ (f) ________ ÷ 876 = 0
(g) ________ ÷ 619 = 1 (h) ________ ÷ 1 = 410 (i) ________ ÷ 129 = 0
