Example 2: A florist bought 1240 white roses, 1580 yellow roses and 1325 jasmine
flowers. How many flowers did he buy in all?
Solution: Number of white roses = 1240 Th H T O

Number of yellow roses = 1580 1 2 4 0
Number of jasmine flowers = 1325 1 5 8 0
Total number of flowers = 1240 + 1580 +1325 = 4145 + 1 3 2 5
Thus, the florist bought 4145 flowers in all. 4 1 4 5
