Step 5: Now, draw an another perpendicular line through point ‘L’ and mark another point ‘S’ on this line with
the help of scale which is also 8 cm far apart from point ‘Q’. So, QS = 8 cm.
R S
8 cm 8 cm
P 8 cm Q
Step 6: Now, meet the point R and point S with the help for scale. By measuring RS, we found that RS = 8 cm.
R 8 cm S
8 cm 8 cm
P 8 cm Q
In this way, a square of 8 cm has been constructed.
CONSTRUCTION OF RECTANGLE
Here, we will learn how to construct a rectangle of side length 6 cm and 8 cm.
Now, let us construct a rectangle by following the steps given below:
Step 1: First of all, draw a horizontal line of 6 cm length by the help for a scale and mark the end points as
P and Q.
P 6 cm Q
Step 2: Now, with the help of protractor, mark a point ‘K’ to draw a perpendicular to PQ through point ‘P’.
