        Decimals

        When we write a given number, let us say 6273, the expanded form of this number denotes the
        value of each digit in the number,

               6273 = 6 × 1000 + 2 × 100 + 7 × 10 + 3 × 1             Have you ever wondered, how to
                                                                      represent the place value of fractions
                                                                      (parts less than 1)?
