        Fraction on the Number Line
        Fractions can be represented by points on the number line.

        Let us represent  ,, ,  on the number line.

        Step 1:  Draw a number line and mark 0 and 1 on it. The line segment between the two markings
                  represents the whole.

        Step 2:  Divide the number line between 0 and 1 into as many parts as the number in the
                  denominator. Here, the denominator is 5, so, the line segment representing one whole
                  is divided into 5 equal parts.
        Step 3:  Label all the five parts. The first mark represents 1 out of 5.
