Hours into Days
To convert hours into days, we divide the hours by 24. The quotient gives days and remainder
as hours.

Let’s Attempt

Example 1: Convert 4 days into hours.
Solution: 1 day = 24 hours
4 days = 4 × 24 hours = 96 hours
Example 2: Convert 3 days 10 hours into hours.
Solution: 1 day = 24 hours

3 days = 3 × 24 hours = 72 hours
Thus, 3 days 10 hours = 72 hours + 10 hours = 82 hours
Example 3: Convert 124 hours into days.
Solution: 5 days

24-Hour Clock

Air and Railway Travel time-tables do not use a.m. and p.m. to show times. Instead they use
the 24-hour clock time. One 24-hour clock is shown on the next page. In it, the hour from each
mid-night to the next one are numbered from 0 to 24.

In 24-hour clock, the time is expressed as a 4-digit number. The first two digits from the left
show hours and the remaining two digits show minutes.
