Leap Year
The earth takes about 365 days and 6 hours to go around the sun. To make our calculations
easier we take a year of 365 days. The time of 6 hours is generally added every fourth year as
(6 × 4 = 24 hours = 1 day) an extra day in February. Thus, the year has 366 days and is called a
‘leap year’. February otherwise has 28 days in ordinary years.
To check a leap year
If a year is divisible by 4, then it is said to be a leap year.
Some More Conversions
We know that
1 year = 12 months, 1 leap year = 366 days, 1 year = 365 days
1 year = 52 weeks, 1 week = 7 days
