        Also, 1 g = 1000 mg and 1 quintal = 100 kg Challenge

The standard weights made of iron are: I’ m not a litre, nor a meter but used to measure
weight you will find me neater. In grams, I’m small
but in kilos, I’m grand used for weighing things
across the land what unit am I?

                            Kilogram weights Gram weights

Converting Higher Units of Mass (Weight) to Lower Units and Vice Versa

To convert a higher unit of mass to lower unit, we multiply it by 10 for each step as illustrated
        here :

                   × 10 × 10 × 10 × 10 × 10 × 10
kg hg dag g dg cg mg

To convert a lower unit of mass to higher unit, we divide it by 10

            kg ÷ 10 hg ÷ 10 dag ÷ 10 g ÷ 10 dg ÷ 10 cg ÷ 10 mg

        Let us learn through examples

              Let’s Attempt

        Example 1: Convert 3750 g into kg and g.
        Solution: 3750 g = (3000 + 750) g

                                 = 3000 g + 750 g = (3000 ÷ 1000) kg + 750 g   1g = 1 kg 
                                                                                                                   
                                 = 3 kg + 750 g = 3 kg 750 g  1000 
        Example 2: Change 15 kg 200 g into g.
        Solution: 15 kg + 200 g = (15 × 1000) g + 200 g [1 kg = 1000 g]

                                        = 15000 g + 200 g = 15200 g
        Example 3: Convert 31250 g into kg and g.

        Solution: 31250 g = (31000 + 250)g  1 
                                 = 31000 g + 250 g = (31000 ÷ 1000) kg + 250 g  1g = 1000 kg 
                                 = 31 kg + 250 g = 31 kg 250 g  

                                                    Exercise 7.2

          1. Convert the following into grams.
