Example 7: Convert 4153 cm into m and cm.
Solution: 4153 cm = (4100 + 53) cm
= 4100 cm + 53 cm
= (4100 ÷ 100) m + 53 cm 1 cm = 1 m
100
= 41 m + 53 cm = 41 m 53 cm

Units of Weight
Mass (Weight) of an object tells us how heavy an object is. Mass (Weight) is measured in gram
(g). The other units for measuring mass (weight) are as follows:
kilogram Hectogram Decagram Gram Decigram Centigram Milligram
Unit
(kg) (hg) (dag) (g) (dg) (cg) (mg)
Value 1000 g 100 g 10 g 1 g 1 g 1 g 1 g
10 100 1000
Higher units of mass (weight) Smaller units of mass (weight)
1 kilogram = 1000 g 1 decigram = 1 g; 1 centigram = 1 g
10 100
1 hectogram = 100 g 1
1 milligram = g
1 decagram = 10 g 1000
