INSERTING TEXT BOXES
A slide contains predefined placeholders for text. If required, new text boxes can be
added anywhere on a slide to insert the required text.
To insert a text box: 2
1. On the Insert tab, click the Text Box
button in the Text group.
2. Move the mouse pointer at the location
on the slide where you want to add the
text box.
The pointer changes to the pointer.
3. Click and drag on the slide to draw the
text box of the required size. 3
The text box appears with a dotted
boundary and the cursor blinks inside it.
4. Type the required text.
The text box changes its size according to
the length of typed text.
5. Format the text as required.
6. Click anywhere outside the text box.

INSERTING A SMARTART GRAPHIC
SmartArt graphics are diagrams that communicate information visually in an
interesting and easily understandable manner. They are grouped under various
categories – List, Process, Cycle, Hierarchy, Relationship, Matrix, Pyramid, Picture,
and Office.com. Every SmartArt graphic is made up of one or more shapes.
To insert a SmartArt graphic in a slide: 1
1. On the Insert tab, click the SmartArt button in
the Illustrations group.
The Choose a SmartArt Graphic dialog box opens.
2. In the left pane, select a SmartArt category.
The SmartArt layouts for the selected category are displayed in the centre pane.
3. In the centre pane, select a SmartArt layout.
The right pane displays a description of the selected layout.
