PowerPoint also provides a Text pane to add text to various shapes in the
SmartArt graphic. Click the Expand button on the left boundary of the
SmartArt graphic to open the Text pane.

When you insert a SmartArt graphic in a slide, the SmartArt Tools Design and Format tabs
appear on the Ribbon. These tabs provide options to modify and format the SmartArt
graphic.

Modifying a SmartArt Graphic

You can modify the structure and change the layout of a SmartArt graphic inserted
in a slide.

To modify the structure of a SmartArt graphic:

1. Select the SmartArt graphic.

2. On the SmartArt Tools Design tab, in the
Create Graphic group, click:
