                             Simple Machines

Machines make our work easier. They use power to apply forces and control movement to perform
        an intended action.

Here are some simple machines which we use in our daily life. Identify and write their names
with the help of the picture clues.

          1. A double-inclined plane that moves to Picture Clues
exert a force along the lengths of the sides.

          2. A plane surface set at an acute angle to a
horizontal surface, direction of motion, or a
              force direction.
                                                                       Wheel

          3. A simple machine that consists of a rigid
              object and a fulcrum.
                                                                                                  Lever

          4. A wheel with a groove along its edge,
where a rope or cable can be placed. It Pulley

              application.

          5. A circular device that is attached to a
rigid bar in its centre. A force applied to it
causes the axle to rotate. Wedge
