ACTIVITY 8.3

OBJECTIVE
To establish the formula for the sum of the cubes of the first n natural numbers.

MATERIAL REQUIRED

 Thermocol sheet  Coloured pencils
 Thermocol balls  Glue
 White chart paper  Ruler

PRE-REQUISITE KNOWLEDGE
1. Knowledge of natural numbers

2. Knowledge of area of squares

PROCEDURE
1. Take a square sheet of thermocol of a convenient size and paste a white chart paper on it.
2. Draw horizontal and vertical lines on the pasted chart paper to form 225 small squares.

3. Fill different colours in squares with the help of coloured pencils as shown in Fig. (a).
