APPLYING BORDERS AND SHADING
Borders around text let you draw attention to important sections of a document.
Shading lets you present text in a creative and eye-catching way.
To apply border and shading effect to text:
1. Select the text on which border or shading is to be applied.
2. On the Home tab, in the Paragraph group, click the down arrow next to
Borders button.

3. Click Borders and Shading... at the bottom
of the list.
The Borders and Shading dialog box appears.
4. To apply a border, click the Borders tab and
specify the various settings for the borders.
5. To apply shading effect on text, click the
Shading tab and specify the various settings
for the shading.
To remove borders from selected text:
1. Select the text from which borders are to be removed.
2. In the Paragraph group, click the down arrow next to Borders button.
3. From the list that appears, click the No Border option.
All borders from the selected text get removed.
