Component Description
Ribbon Provides commands for various tasks, divided into Tabs and Groups.
Opens the Backstage view and provides commands to work with
File Tab
documents.
Work Area Displays the contents of a document and lets you work in it.
Scroll Bars Used to move up and down, or left and right in a document.
Status Bar Provides information about the current document.
Rulers Used to layout content of a document in an organised manner.
ENTERING TEXT IN A DOCUMENT
When a blank document is opened, a vertical bar called
the Cursor blinks in the Work area. After you start typing, Morality
the text appears at the cursor position, and the cursor
shifts ahead as you type. When the text reaches the end of a line, it automatically gets
shifted to the next line. Press the Enter key to start a new paragraph.
Knowledge Discovery Subject Enrichment
You can move the cursor around in a document using the arrow keys on the keyboard or
simply click with the mouse at the desired location in the document.
EDITING A DOCUMENT
Editing a document refers to making changes to the content of a document. It
involves adding text, deleting text, copying and moving text, and checking spelling and
grammatical mistakes in the document.
Inserting Text
Word lets you insert new text anywhere in the document.
To insert text:
1. Place the cursor at the position where you want to insert the new text.
