Hiding the Desktop Icons

Let’s hide the icons on the Desktop and do some magic.
Step 1: Right-click on the Desktop and click on the View option.

Step 2: From the list of options that appears, click on the Show desktop icons to uncheck (no tick) it.

To bring back the icons again, just click (tick) the Show desktop icons option again.
Sorting Icons

Sorting means arranging. We can sort the icons on Desktop on basis of different criteria.
Step 1: Right-click on the Desktop and click on Sort by. A list of options appears including the following:
 Name: to arrange icons in alphabetical order
 Size: to arrange icons in the order of their storage size i.e., the space occupied in the storage device
 Item type: to arrange icons according to their categories
 Date modifi ed: to arrange icons in the order in which they were created or modifi ed

Step 2: Click the desired option from name, size, item type or date modifi ed.
