public in 2006. Facebook has both advantages and disadvantages.
Advantages of Facebook

 It makes easier to connect and share posts with family, friends and business associates online.
 You can upload pictures, stream live video, play games, post comments, share photographs and links to
news or interesting content on the Web, chat live, etc.
 From the marketing point of view, Facebook is valuable to create a brand not only for individuals but also
businesses at the global level.
 The biggest advantage is that when you like or join news groups and pages, you can keep yourself up to
date about the latest news and headlines from your area.

Disadvantages of Facebook
 The biggest disadvantages of Facebook is the privacy of the user. Most people do not properly use the
privacy options and features and hence become vulnerable to online threats.
 When you become Facebook addictive, you will waste your precious time as it will consume most of your
time that could be spend productively.

X (Formerly Twitter)
Twitter is the second most used social networking site that allows its users to
send or read messages of upto 140 characters known as tweets. This service was
founded in March, 2006 by Jack Dorsey and was launched in July, 2006. It was
taken over by Elon Musk in 2023 and rebranded as X. While creating tweets, users
can also create link to other content. It is mainly used by celebrities, journalists,
politicians and other public fi gures to communicate their messages to the followers.
Companies and organizations have also used it effectively to engage with their
potential customers offering promotions and other special services.

Advantages of X
 Is is a more simpler medium to communicate than other social mediums.
