The Four S’s of Communication

The four S’s of communication are:
        Shortness
Speak short sentences which are easily comprehensible. Very long sentences
result in frequent lapses in attention, resulting in miscommunication.

        Simplicity
The simpler the message, the easier it is to understand.

        Strength
The message should have some substance. It should not convey the idea that
the communication may end up in a desultory piece of useless conversation.

        Sincerity
While communicating the message, the sender should be serious and sincere. The impact of the message should
        be genuine and long lasting.

Define any three principles of communication in your own words.

                                              Demonstrate Basic Writing Skills

A seller has just sent you an invoice about a machine that you are planning to buy on urgent basis. The invoice
is supposed to contain key information regarding the machine required for your project. But there’s a problem—
the invoice is so badly written that you can not find the data you need.

There are misspellings and incomplete sentences, and the matter is so haphazard and confusing that it takes you
three times more than it should to find the information you want.
As a result, you are not able to convince your management about the machine and the productivity. Thus, basic
writing skills are necessary to convey written information in an effective way.

        Writing Skills
Writing skills are very important for a professional to succeed in this competitive world. Effective writing skills
allow the sender to express his message with ease and comfort without leading to any confusion to the receiver.
Some essential elements of writing are:
        v using correct grammar.
