Creating a Template
You can create your own templates in two ways: from a document or using a wizard.
Creating a Template From a Document
To create a template from a document:
Step 1: Open a new or an existing document.
Step 2: Add the content and styles that you want.
Step 3: Choose FileTemplatesSave As Template.
Step 4: The Save As Template dialog box opens, displaying the existing categories.
Step 5: Click the category to which you want to assign the template. The category you choose has no effect
on the template itself; it is simply the folder in which you save the template. Choosing an appropriate
category (My Templates) makes it easier to find the template when you want to use it.
Step 6: Click the Save button.
Using a Template
Opening a template always creates a copy of the template file which you can change without affecting the
original template.
To use a template:
Step 1: Select File New Templates. The Template dialog box opens.
Step 2: Navigate to the template that you want to open. Select the desired template and click the Open button.
