The words luckily, weakly, happily and faithfully are examples of adverbs of manner.
Adverbs of manner are formed by adding -ly to the end of adjec� ves.
polite – politely sad – sadly
rude – rudely quick – quickly
If an adjec� ve ends in -y, change -y to -i before adding -ly.
lazy – lazily happy – happily
hungry – hungrily merry – merrily
Some adjec� ves do not change their spelling when they are changed to adverb.
fast – fast hard – hard
