Let’s Learn Present Continuous Tense

Some� mes we use more than one verb to show an ac� on that is going on at the � me

of speaking. The present con� nuous tense tells us what is happening now.

Read the following sentences.

The boy is riding a bicycle.


I am going to Shimla.

We are cooking lunch for the guests.

In the above sentences, the groups of words is riding, am going and are cooking are in

the present con� nuous tense.

Observe the forma� on of a sentence in the present con� nuous tense.

subject + is/am/are + root form of a verb + -ing + ...

She + is + go+ing + to the market.
