Adverbs of Manner
The adverbs that tell us about the way in which something happens or is done is called the adverbs
of manner.
Read the sentences given below.
l The tortoise moves slowly. l The dog barks loudly.

angrily calmly fatally joyously
anxiously clearly fiercely justly
badly closely fondly kindly
beautifully eagerly gently lazily
boldly easily gladly loosely

Adverbs of Frequency
The adverbs that describe how often something occurs are called the adverbs of frequency.
It may do so in definite (weekly, daily, yearly) or indefinite (sometimes, often, rarely) terms.
An adverb of frequency is used:
to tell us how often something happens.
Read the sentence given below.
l They usually shop for groceries on Saturday.
with simple present tense to indicate routine or repeated activities.

l We take a vacation at least once annually.
after a subject, but before a verb.

l He is often late for work.
in forming a negative or a question, it is placed before the main verb.
