Negative Sentence
To make negative sentences in simple past tense, we use did not with both singular
and plural subjects. Also, we use the root form of the verb.

1. He did not go to the office yesterday.
2. They did not come to play this morning.
Interrogative Sentence
To make interrogative sentences in simple past tense, we begin the sentence with
did. And we use the root form of the verb.

1. Did you meet him?
2. Did you learn your lesson well?
