Some adjectives do not change their spellings when they are changed to adverb.

                  fast          –       fast                        hard          –        hard


          The adverbs of manner fast and hard do not end in –ly.
            1.  The rabbit ran fast.                             2.  The boy worked hard.


          Adverbs of Time


          An adverb of time tells when an action takes place.

          Read the following sentences.

            1.  The girl saw him yesterday.                      2.  His uncle is coming today.

          In the above sentences, the words yesterday and today tell us when the actions take

          place. Hence, they are adverbs of time.

          The words  presently,  next week,  tomorrow,  before,  daily,  ago,  early and  late are

          examples of adverbs of time.

          Adverbs of Place


          An adverb of place tells where an action takes place.

          Read the following sentences.

            1.  God is everywhere.                               2.  Priya was playing outside.

          In the above sentences, the words everywhere and outside tell us where the actions

          take place. Hence, they are adverbs of place.

          The words here, inside, up, away, down, below, far and near are some examples of
          adverbs of place.


          Adverbs of Frequency


          An adverb of frequency tells how often an action takes place.

          Read the following sentences.

            1.  Rohit never played football.                     2.  I always obey my elders.

            3.  The boy sometimes wears new clothes.

          In the above sentences, the words never, always and sometimes tell us how often or
          how frequently the actions take place. Hence, they are adverbs of frequency.

          The words once, usually, rarely and regularly are examples of adverbs of frequency.
