Multi plicati on 69

Step-3: Add the two numbers in both the rows.

                          48 + 720 = 768

                          Thus, 24 × 32 = 768

        Example 2: Multiply 63 by 45.

Solution: First of all we arrange the numbers as per their place values and follow
                         these steps: Th H T O

                                                                                                             6 3
         Step-1: First multiply 63 to 5 ones. × 4 5

                         63 × 5 ones = 63 × 5 = 315 3 1 5

Write 315 in the fi rst row.
                                                                                                    2 8 3 5
         Step-2: Next multiply 63 by 4 tens.
                                                                                 RIDDLE
                                                                                 RIDDLE
                         63 × 4 tens = 63 × 40 = 2520
I’m a mathemati cal operator that makes
Write 2520 in the second row. number grow.

Step-3: Add the two numbers in both the rows. Repeated additi on, as many of you know.
                                                                          Two numbers I always combine,
                         315 + 2520 = 2835
And the product is oh-so-fi ne.
                         Thus, 63 × 45 = 2835 What am I?
