Line
When we extend a line segment AB in both directions endlessly, a line is obtained. A line
has no starting and end points and thus has no defi nite length. We denote the line AB no starting and end points and thus has no defi nite length. We denote the line AB

Ray can be extended to any length.
When we extend a line segment endlessly only in one direction, a ray is obtained. We
denote the ray AB as AB. It has a starting point but no end point.

Curved Line
In the fi gure given below, the points A and B are joined, but not
by a ruler. The line is not a straight line. It is called a curved line. A B
