5 Write the number of rectangles in each of the following.

                  (a) (b) (c)

            Solids

A solid shape is defi ned by the number and combination of certain parts. These parts are

faces, edges and vertices. Some examples of solid shapes are as follows:
                                                                                               face
            Cube vertex

In a cube, every face is a square. All squares are of
same dimension. A cube has 6 faces, 12 edges and 8 edge
            vertices.

                    Cubes

            Cuboid face
In a cuboid, every face is a rectangle. Opposite vertex

faces are of same dimension. A cuboid has edge
            6 faces, 12 edges and 8 vertices.
